The giant sable antelope is the proud owner of some of the longest horns in the animal kingdom. Some horns have been measured up to an amazing 70 inches. Females are a golden chestnut and males are almost entirely glossy black. The sable and roan antelope are known to be aggressive and will courageously defend themselves if attacked. On their nightly foray to the water hole, other animals quickly yield the right of way to the majestic sable antelope.
