The tiger’s distinctive coloring, sinewy grace, awesome size and power make this magnificent animal one of nature’s most respected creatures. Originally the tiger’s home was the frigid plains of Siberia. Unlike most cats, tigers are strong swimmers and can be found cooling off in shallow pools. Tigers have been known to attack humans but only when injured or shot at indiscriminately. Hunting and habitat loss has threatened the tiger with extinction.
